Production process
3D Printing Filament Production Process
Filament production on a Rongcai line runs as one continuous sequence: feeding, extrusion, cooling and sizing, in-line diameter measurement, servo traction and automatic winding.
Short answer
The production process starts with polymer pellets and ends with a wound spool. Each stage hands the strand to the next at a known condition: melted and pushed at the die, cooled and sized before measurement, measured before traction, and taken up under controlled tension at the winding station.

- Diameter reading against the specified tolerance
- Winding tension and spool specification
FAQ
Technical questions
What are the quality checkpoints on the line?
The diameter reading is the continuous checkpoint during the run; the strand condition entering traction and the tension at winding are checked at the same time. Parameters that are still open in the Rongcai list are confirmed per machine configuration.
Which equipment maps to each stage?
Feeding and extrusion map to the extruder, cooling and sizing to the hot-water and cold-water sections, measurement to the dual-axis laser gauge, and traction and winding to the servo take-off and winding station.
